Real Estate Search Engine App for iPhone 3GS
Share |

rofo

Searching for your next business location just got easier, thanks to a partnership between Rofo, the first search engine dedicated solely to matching businesses with office space, and junaio, a new mobile augmented reality platform.

Available now as a free app on the iPhone 3GS and coming soon to Android devices, junaio 2.0 (by Metaio) features a new Rofo commercial real estate channel, giving business owners instant access to complete information on available property listings by simply pointing their phone at a building of interest as they stroll through their favorite city or neighborhood.

Through this partnership, Rofo provides up to date national commercial real estate listings to mobile users by leveraging junaio’s augmented reality technology, which utilizes the phone’s compass and GPS to show digital content overlaid on real time locations. By subscribing to Rofo’s channel on the junaio 2.0 app, users can access information on nearby office spaces, including type of space, space size, monthly rent expense, lease type and can make direct inquiries to the appropriate broker or landlord right from their mobile device.

"Trusted Companies" to Bring Greater Usefulness to Yahoo Mail
Share |

Yahoo has announced that the Yahoo Mail API now allows Read and Read+Write access to full message contents for any type of user. What this means is that developers can create more useful ways to use Yahoo Mail.

"Say a company builds a tool that sends users a text message alert whenever their boss e-mails them," says Risher. "With the new tools we’re announcing, Yahoo! Mail users who are interested in this service can securely grant access to that company without sharing their password (which would be a definite no-no); because they don’t have to share their password, they can also easily revoke access if they change their mind. We’ve even added the ability to limit whether the company can view whole messages or just selected bits like the Subject line."

"With these enhancements, it’s easier than ever for companies to build new features, and we’re all excited to see what new inventions they’ll build with this service," he says.

Last month at SXSW, we spoke with Risher about some innovations going on at Yahoo Mail, one of the most widely used email services to this day (the video was done live - the actual interview starts a couple minutes in):

Whiteboard Friday - Link Building with Nudges
Share |

Posted by great scott!

Is it better to practically force your users to make the desired conversion action, or is it better to give them a choice? How about a choice between two desired conversion actions?  How about giving them choice, but making the more preferred one easier as well as anchoring it in social proof that makes it still more compelling?  It's a powerful way to increase conversion rates and funnel users on your sites, and it's a concept covered in the book Nudge, by Richard Thaler & Cass Sunstein.

Will Critchlow covered Nudge in detail on the blog last year, but we've recently seen some interesting examples of how you can use this theory effectively in your on-page and social marketing efforts. Watch this week's Whiteboard Friday to learn more about how you can implement these tactics yourself.
